The programme will be co-ordinated with the following Ministries, Government Institutions and Private Sector Associations:
- Ministry of Textiles and Jute (MOT&J)
- National Institute of Textile Training, Research and Design (NITTRAD)
- Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA)
- Ministry of Commerce (MOC)
- Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers' and Exporters' Association (BGMEA)
- BGMEA Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT)
- Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers' and Exporters' Association (BKMEA).

| Duties |

Under the framework of the Bangladesh Quality Support Programme, the International Expert will assist in the development the textile information services, including promotional tools and materials for the Textile and Read-made Garment (RMG) sectors, under the supervision of the Project Manager (in Vienna) and in close collaboration with the Textile Component Coordinator (TCC), the Chief Technical Adviser (CTA), other national and international experts and in consultation with the local counterparts. The specific responsibilities of the expert are: |

Main duties: - Identify the industry needs on textile information through discussions with textile manufacturers, suppliers, trade associations and other industry-support institutions.
- Develop a strategy and a workplan on textile information for BTMA & NITTRAD and formulate a strategy for strengthening BIFT Library and Internet Service (in cooperation with other International Experts).
- Analyse the promotional objectives of BTMA in terms of:
- Reader target groups/markets
- Type of products/services to be promoted
- Approach adopted by others Associations vs. BTMA’s characteristic points
- Define the most appropriate promotional tools and materials (website/brochure/flyer/billboard/media/library) for each of the targetfgroups selected, taking into account the available financial resources
- Training of the technical staff in counterpart institutions to develop the selected promotional tools and materials, get price quotations and assist in actual production, including the establishment of technical magazines and modern libraries, including online information services.
- Make presentations to NITTRAD, BTMA, BKMEA and MOT&J on the findings and recommendations

| Qualifications |
: |
Advanced university degree in textile technology or equivalent, with practical experience in textile information services. A previous experience of working in developing countries would be an advantage. |
